How do they expect me to have the time to play them all?

Currently playing through dead space and fallout 3 and struggling to find time to play these and I have red alert 3 still in it's wrapper and COD5 and left for dead on pre-order

To make things even harder for me I have just downloaded the left for dead demo,

The past 12 months I have played (pretty much exclusively) on my my 360 and ps3 but I can't fault the pc atm

lol...

i know, it's like a HUGE torrent of titles to work through... i'm wondering whether or not to put down a preorder for CoD W@W this weekend and get points for it or save the £££ for GTA IV, or even Empire Total War. not to mention i nabbed a copy of The Witcher EE today and haven't even played it, or Spore, or Fallout 3 for the most part...

I think i am just going to stock u[p on games, leave them unplayed till the summer hols, and then game my socks off during that time...

Well it's fairly standard at this time of year, you always get the publishers pushing for games to released in time for 'Holiday season' (i.e. Thanksgiving).

My recommendation is to do the same as I normally do, simply delay buying games you don't have time to play, then pick 'em up next year (or later!) at a reduced price once patches and faster hardware are out. In six months time people will be moaning about how dead the PC gaming market is due to the obsession with the LATEST AND GREATEST, but you just need to simply start working through the backcatalogue of excellent titles already released. Even if no new games got released for the next two years, I'd still not run out of ones to try.

I know the feeling. I have got about 5 games to play and a couple of them I haven't even started yet.

I have been trying to play

Far Cry 2
Assassins Creed
RA3

I haven't even installed

Fallout 3
Deadspace

I am quite glad GTA IV has been put back to December, as I need to catch up on some quality game time.

I've come to realise buying games brand new is for mugs, the exceptionally bored or those with more money than sense.

On the rare occasion I do buy new, but generally it's best to wait a couple of months and buy for half price! I've wasted so much money on games that I've barely touched and I see the second hand value plummet by the time I get round to really playing them.

Unlike many second hand items, a game is just as usable/reliable as when it was new..

Don't worry you now have 12 months before they release the next big stack of great games. If we are lucky one or two may slip through like Total War Empire and Dawn of War II as they are P.C only and the suits in charge of EA etc only think of consoles!

It's not like £18-£25 is expensive for what was developed though.

Amiga games some 15 years ago sold in this price bracket - in inflation terms alone they should be more like £50.

Pre-order prices for the big name titles are a bargain to me :)

yep, same problem here. I'm not as fussed about completing games as I used to be, these days I'm far more inclined to stop playing when they become a chore or no fun any more. But my pile of games I haven't even touched or hardly played at all is getting bigger by the week. :(

But I do have next week off work and the last three weeks of the year off, so hoping to lock myself away and get some quality gaming done. :)

WINTER FOR GAMING, Summer for going OUTSIDE :P

I know what you mean i got like 8 sp player games i gota completed, and play COD4, BF2 and LBP regular, GOSH :(

Plus want COD WAW for Multiplayer and Single

and the main thing i asked for for XMAS is Games aswell :|

Yeah I'm feeling the same, but its a lovely feeling after the dearth of games between May and October! I even resorted to buying the odd "ancient generic FPS" type games just for some mindless violence for a bit!

Still, I now have BIA: HH to complete on hard, love the MG 42 - doing FC2 on Hardcore, exploring around a lot more than my first character now that I properly understand the mechanics of guns and diamonds etc.

Looking forward to getting Fallout 3 properly set up and having a good game through that, then maybe looking into a couple of other things.... oh and GRID still needs installing and having a bash at! (free from OCUK - ta muchly!)
