First off hello!

Now thats out of the way.

My trusty razer mgalodon has finally given up the ghost and it has served its purpose. So now I'm in the market for a new headset but there are so many to choose from. I've had a few recommendations from close friends but I'm still undecided.

At the moment my shortlist only consists of
Steel series siberia
Asus Orion Pro
Asus ANC Vulcan.
Creative Lab Tactic3d Wrath

My requirements are fairly specific but I wouldnt call them un reasonable.
Budget is max £130 but I dont want to pay £130 just for the sake of getting the most expensive. You will see my current choices fall well below my £130 budget.
Sound quality is (strangely enough) not the top of my needs as personally I feel a lot of the mid range and up headsets all sound good enough from my experiences.

Specific requirements.
Must be USB (or have a usb sound card included)
Good noise cancelling
I want voice playback out of the box (i had this on a set of turtle beach before the dog ate it)

Wireless would be a bonus but not essential.
Retractable mic would be a bonus but not essential

Comfort is neither here nor there but if its head crushingly bad i dont really want to know but i dont need it to be the most comfortable design ever!

Unfortunatley voice playback (which is something i really need otherwise i end up shouting down the mic so the whole street can hear...drives the missus mad) I couldnt care less what it looks like or if it has mega superduper 7.1 super mega brain ache bass booster rockets! (the simulated 7.1 on my razer sounded horrible!) Am i asking the world? Could manufactures just put some simple bullet points at the end of all those essays they write?

I just want some help in determining what headset meet my requirements as there sooooo many to choose from. I dont even know if my current choices even have voice playback!

Thanks!
Nick

What are you using them for? I've been using the Siberias for fps gaming for years(all the way back when they were called icemat) and are great in that environment.

I have used some G930s too, quality bit of kit. However, I cannot speak highly enough of my Sennheiser HD595s - don't think they make them anymore but there is an updated version, will see if I can dig out a link.

930's are crap if there are others in the same area that are using them, it'll detune for a second and find a new channel around every 20 seconds or so.

Just to say I was in the same boat has you mate, after doing all the research, reading all the reviews, checking what was what etc I decided to got for a Corsair Vengeance 1500 v2 7.1 headset, after clicking the buy button I think I've made the right choice, just waiting for the headset to come.

The Logitech G35 looked good, and I loved the feature of having the extra buttons on the left hand side and the looks in general, but the 1500 just seems to be overall better value for money, and this is coming from a usual Logitech person (mouse, keyboard, webcam etc).

Headset should arrive today or tomorrow, I will let you know how it feels / sounds when I get it.
