Drowning in Dong over here. A million of them to be precise. A friend of mine gave us a gag gift for our wedding as 1 000 000 Vietnamese Dong. We have no intention or plans to go to Vietnam in the near or even distant future so would like to exchange this to GBP. It's about £35 so can be put to good use.

My question is, can you typically just walk into Marks/Post Office etc on the high street and convert it? I know you can for popular currencies but not sure about this. Yes I Know I can call and ask and all that but here I am.

0.000035 Pound sterling to 1 dong damn! that's a high rate! I would hate to do their calculations for a corner shop. Actually do they even have shops or is it just markets?
Are you one of those people who think Africans run around in loin cloths and ride their elephant to school/work? :p

Yes, they have "shops":

As for your question about walking into a high street or whatever and get it converted.... you could have had it converted by now if you just had tried.... :p

Post your videos for us asking if they convert dong.
I could make a YouTube channel where I go to high street currency exchanges and try exchange my Dong :D As for having it converted by now, negatory. I am at work :p

I used to deal with this currency in an airport setting, irrespective of the fact there were no flights to or from Vietnam from that location. Any major currency exchange company should accept it, it's not a rare currency.

You can buy it online from M&S, can't see any reason why they wouldn't accept it at branch level.
Thank you for this information. I shall go try exchange it this weekend.
