So my DS Lite is cracking up:/

just noticed last night that my White DS lite has a reasonable sized crack on one of the hinges. and reading around this seems to be a common fault.

Does anyone here have any experience of this issue

i dont want to post it back to Nintendo if i can avoid, has anyone had any joy taking it back to the retailer?

Had the same thing and had to send back to nintendo which took about two weeks for them to return
