I can't decide what to replace them with. That deal on getting a new pair for £15 is no longer available and as such I'm stumped. I might end up putting £25 notes down for them, but I'm wondering if there is much better out there for about £40-50? I'm not up on headphones anymore...

I'd love some Atrio M5s but I can't justify the cost!

Well...they arn't dead. The little foam bits that protect from wax getting in have got lost which has ruined the isolation and bass responce. They sound far too bright. I had them modded for a while with the cling film mod but it made them uncomfortable and overly bright so I'd rather not be suggested that again.

Just get some new Tips then? Do you mean filters? Just put a tiny amount of cotten wool in the holes.... or replace the filter with a bit of siver foil then put a pin hole thru it! Sure you modded them right, cling film mod makes them very dark and not bright!

depends what you mean by better? what kind of sound are you after, at a guess id say u like bass heavy? if so then for up to about £50 then id suggest u look at sennheiser cx95 then cx500, cx400 then to the old reliable cx300

Well I wrapped cling film over the bits as shown in photos, pierced it with a needle and made the whole big and it sounded awful. Crashy and made my ears hurt :/

Will try the cotton wool stuff though, cheers.

I got the CX500 today for use on the Nokia 5800 and just had a quick listen on my NAD amp and they sound good! Obviously once burned in will sound better but the sound is very nice and crisp/beefy.

The build quality and accessories are nice too with a very nice pouch, one of the better pouch designs I have seen too.
