She had a spare copy of the Simon and Garfunkel album, and she knows i like accoustic stuff like David Gray, Damien Rice etc, so she suggested i have it. I thought what's the harm in giving it a listen?

What an album, very mellow, gentle, calming, while still being upbeat. Wasnt really expecting to like it to be honest, should i be embarassed? :p

There are a couple of songs on this album that i didnt know they did, Cecilia for starters, giggled when that came on :D

What albums do you have in your collection that stick out from the rest?

No you shouldn't be embarrassed about Simon & Garfunkel - Damien Rice & David Gray however.......;)

I can't think of any albulms I own that stick out from the rest because that presumes I have some sort of organised process for buying music, I don't, as an example the last two albulms I can recall that I bought were Sophie B Hawkins and C-Rayz Walz. Both very good in their own way but utterly different. Just buy and listen to whatever you like, if anyone else has an issue with it then it is their problem not yours. :)

nothing to be ashamed about.Simon and Garfunkel were excellent artists. My fav song of theres is 'The sound of silence' closely followed by 'The boxer'.Not so keen on the solo stuff, but as a duo they were tops!!

Had this tune going round in my head all afternoon since reading this thread. :p
Cheers Welshy.

agreed!

i love simon & garfunkel, really mellow and just generally happy songs.

i think my favourite has to be "59th street bridge song"

and the album "sounds of silence" as i remember my dad playing it when i was little (around 4 to 7) and loving every single track on the album!

"i need to creep down the alley way.... flyyyyyyyy down the high waaaaay, before the come to catch me i'll be gone... somewhere... they cant find me!"
