I find it hilarious that people think the 290 is a hot running card, its got the same issue that ivybridge and Haswell have, not getting rid of heat quick enough. People forget so easily the old hot as hell GTX 580's and the GTX 480. Its those cards that caused Nvidias push for less heat output and the same will happen with AMD now their new card is out.
So you just admitted the fault and then rebuffed people who also point out the fault. Sure they are prob fine under water but with blower cooler the 290x are both noisy and hot. For some it's not a problem but for others it is. I have no loyalty to either side by the way I've had cards from both camps. Also, been waiting for shadowplay for ages now I have a feeling I might never see it
