So Nvidia have shadow play but..

I find it hilarious that people think the 290 is a hot running card, its got the same issue that ivybridge and Haswell have, not getting rid of heat quick enough. People forget so easily the old hot as hell GTX 580's and the GTX 480. Its those cards that caused Nvidias push for less heat output and the same will happen with AMD now their new card is out.

So you just admitted the fault and then rebuffed people who also point out the fault. Sure they are prob fine under water but with blower cooler the 290x are both noisy and hot. For some it's not a problem but for others it is. I have no loyalty to either side by the way I've had cards from both camps. Also, been waiting for shadowplay for ages now I have a feeling I might never see it :D

Dxtory also allows you to record a subset of your window (when I'm playing in eyefinity, I use dxtory to record just the 1920x1080 middle, and simultaneously downscale it to 1280x720, for less of a drop in performance than I used to get with fraps).

Sorry for not replying, I've been having some internet problems, I've been looking at either 290x, 280x Xfire or 770 and maybe 770 Sli, I have tried Dxtory out and noticed the impact isnt that great, Think this will come down to the flip of a coin :p

But what makes you think that when everything else has failed?
Game capture HD
Fraps
Msi Afterburner
Avermedia Live Gamer

All tried and failed.

Dxtory isn't bad. It does help however that the creator of Shadow Play also makes the GPUs. Just food for thought there.

A lot of people have reported good things thus far, and we're only a day into a beta.

Don't think you understand what you was pointing out. Shadow play is missing a massive feature that dxtory has and is the only recording software to have it.
This feature is why dxtory is number one I not going to tell you because you should have first read couple posts back.
:D

I know what your arguement was, but I don't think it matters, as dxtory still has enough of an overhead for me not to want to use it.

They nothing worse than recording game play with friends and having there team speak also record.

Because dxtory allows you to record from multiple devices you can have the audio split into 3 streams games, mic, team speak.
Much better editing, it's this feature why I know a lot including myself that everything else out there is pointless.
Don't get me wrong from what I have seen shadow play works superb and would be superb if you only record gameplay without friends in a talking software.

They aren't nvidia.

Lol.

As of now, dxtory provides features nvidia and other recorders do not. For me, the most important feature is to record a smaller cutout of the gameplay (so I can still play in triple screen, while recording a normal 16x9 ratio for others to view).
IF nvidia introduce some of the unique features DXtory introduces, then your faith will have been justified. But we can only judge them on what they provide now, not features they don't have - and have not promised to give.
I owuldn't hold my breath, personally.
