I have in my possession a:

Gainward GeForce GTX 670 2GB GDDR5

I really don't know how old this card is, how it stacks up - is it any good?
Basically was in a pile of parts, boss said I can take it - is it any good?

That GPU is 4 years old today. by modern standards it's slow it will probably perform like a 960 2GB but use considerably more power.

It will be fine for 1080p gaming on mid-low settings i imagine maybe high on well optimised games or if you don't mind losing some frames.

So in short yeah it's a perfectly fine card but compared to a similar performing card today it will use a bit more power.

Depends on what you want to do with it. Should be able to handle a lot of games at 1080p with medium settings.

I was playing Far Cry 4 recently at 1080 on my old i5 3570 + GTX 670 and it was pushing 60 fps at high with some aliasing options nudged down a bit.

Also surprisingly after finding the right combo of Win 7 + drivers + Ethminer I was achieving 15 MH/s which actually as good as many older AMD cards unfortunately there wasn't much worth mining with that hash and 2GB. 980 TI was getting 20 MH/s in the same rig.

It should still get ~£60 on Ebay though if it's in good nick with a box n cables.

Whatever you do there's absolutely no point buying anything until the dust settles and we see what's on offer at what prices in June.

Everyone seems to have the right idea here - It's great for 1080p with MID/HIGH on some older AAA titles. It's a beast of a card :) if you want to push a bit more, you could always go down the route of SLI with these, although SLI is a grey area for some - rather than splashing out for a new card, you might be able to pick up another 670 on ebay at a good price :) just a thought :)

its what im on at the mo as well, overclocked a little it can susprise on some games at medium settings but for modern games it can be a pig. best bet wait for june and check out the price and reviews of the 1070/80's and see what you can afford.

1080p Medium-High settings, I remember when I brought my HD 7850 2GB that the GTX 670 was just outside my price limit :D Still a rather decent card and would keep just for backup.

Back in the day it was a £340 card I believe give or take and was a fantastic card of its generation it was much cheaper than the flagship 680 whilst offering 90% of its performance which could be closed up through an overclock. For today's standards especially when overcl oked it'll match an overclocked 960 though use a lot more power even then so it'll do 1080p medium-high
