So... recommend me some PS3 games!

Welcome to the gang matey, you'll have to add me when you get on PSN (Nokkon). I wouldn't really recommend anything other than Resistance though unless you like Formula 1, then that's a must.

I'd go for Warhawk on top of Resistance and you have 2 excellent online games (though I can't comment on Warhawk myself, public opinion says it's a cracker).

You can get one for £300 if you shop around which would buy you a new graphics card for your PC, I guess it depends what your current HW is like

Can I ask why you recommend R:FOM when you gave it such a bashing in just about every department in a previous thread?

I personally loved Motorstorm, the graphics are excellent and the vehicles physics are so true to life. Great game and very fun when playing against guys on here a few months back.
 
Because whilst I have said that the Single Player is very poor I have always said it has an excellent multiplayer mode on it.

The reason I didn't recommend Motorstorm is because whilst it is great fun and (in the most part) a good looking game, it's repetative and does get dull and I didn't enjoy Multiplayer at all.
 
i got my PS3 last month and "im lovin it", just got myself Ninja Gaiden Sigma so cant wait for it to come in the post!
what about The Darkness or have you played it on the 360?
i think the 2 top PS3 games that are due out are gonna be, Heavenly Sword + Warhawk.

Nowadays I wouldn't say the PC is a superior gaming platform.
If anything I would say it is slowly dying out.
Look how many good games are being released on Xbox 360 / PS3 and the PC is getting ignored.
Ok so UTIII will be on all three platforms but the COD series abandoned the PC after COD2 and unless it's coded correctly, MOH Airborne will yet another console port on the PC.
Halo 2 for the PC should have been a step forward in graphics on the PC version and it looks the same as the Xbox 360 version.
Stalker was supposed to have been the game of the year for PC gamers yet it's needed more patches than a well used blow up doll.
I know I am talking generally about fp shooters but even the PC version of games like Just Cause was a poor port in my opinion.
I come from the die hard PC gaming community but last year after seeing how dire the market had become I bought an Xbox 360 and I love it.
I've borrowed the so called latest and greatest games from a friend for the PC and they've not lasted a day before being uninstalled.
I will also buy a PS3 when they are par with what I paid for the Xbox 360 last year.

So my tuppence worth is don't waste the money on high end graphics card for the PC (you'll only want to upgrade it again in two years max), if you can justify the current price of the PS3, you'll get more than 2 years gaming value out of it :)

I plan on getting all multiplatform games on the 360 as they seem universally superior.

I recently built a new PC (8600GT, e6600 @ 3.6GHz, 2GB RAM, I'll upgrade the GFX if I need to as it was only a £60 card... there's no point at all in getting an 8800 now when an 8600 is so cheap). I've only got this PC for starcraft as apart from StarCraft 1 + 2 PC games are dull tbh.

Now stay on topic and stop being a fanboy!
 
Warhawk, Uncharted, UT3, Heavenly Sword, VF5, GT5:P. That covers now and upcoming for this year and then of course GT5, MGS4, Resistence 2 and FF13 are ones to look forward to next year.

As for multi-platform titles, yeah most have been bad ports but take it on a title by title basis. And the situation will change, the new Burnout was made for ps3 and is being ported to 360 so we will see in the end.

The new tiger woods was rated better on the PS3 on gamespot :D I think with people who have all the consoles just get the multiplat that's best, simple as. Anyone mention GTHD yet? its not bad and its free ! Ok its nowhere like GT5 prologue but its available now.

As im lead to believe I think the PS3 of UT3 will be better on the PS3,(and out 6 months sooner), its either PC or PS3 for me on this one, it dont matter which as we can all play nice together!
 
UT3 on ps3 is the superior version, kb/m support and mod support and the money sony paid for exclusive rights for 6 months more or less guaranteed a better version.
 
i seem to remember reading somewhere that ut3 with support keyboard and mouse on the ps3....is that confirmed or have i misread something?

downloading gt:hd now already got fl0w.

are there any games for the ps3 that you can download freeware off the net and stick in? obviously nothing dodgy.

Oh dear lord no, it'd be bad enough if it becomes possible for PC and PS3 to play against each other on UTIII.
I've spent the last year getting used to a console and gamepad and now the input device mofos will own me again :D

Keyboard /mouse is confirmed and PC /PS3 cross play is all but, there will be options to filter out K/M users if you dont want play against them and i guess some balancing also.
The only "free" PS3 games are the free demos of some the PSN , and full games, unless of course you want to install linux and then you can play many games but not PS3 ones though ;)

Is GTHD free to download? Anything else worth downloading when I get my grubby mitts on it?

Edit: Ooooh! Can I install StarCraft onto the PS3 via Linux?

Warhawk thread reminded me, you will need a USB or Bluetooth Headset for chat (Both RFOM and Warhawk will support it).
