So the 600T is noisy? :(

Looking for a new case which needs to be fairly quiet, although not completely "silent".

The Corsair 600T seemed to fit the bill perfectly from a design/features point of view and all the reviews I've read seem to be glowing. Looking in here however, it seems many find the 600T to be very noisy. Err, what gives? Are the reviews wrong, is this a noisy case?

Any opinions and/or advice on this or alternative cases appreciated - it's a total minefield! :(

It's probably just the stock noise fans that are noisy, although a lot of people have different opinions on what "noisy" is, if you think it's too noisy just change fans :)

I'm waiting to buy this, I can't wait!

Yeah it's pretty much the perfect case for me, just worried about all the reports of noise. Don't mind replacing the fans but don't know what with. Seen reports that the Spectre Pro in the front works well and then replacing the top fan with a couple of 120mm ones.

I need to sell some of my components I don't use for one cause I want it that much haha, yeah spectres are supposed to be good :) when I get mine ill be replacing the top fan for two 120mm red led fans will look awesome :)

I have the white edition and even thou ive now changed all stock fan they are not loud at all and move a fair amount of air!

Only changed fans due to H100 on roof so dual 120mm needed and colour code with the build theme!

Im running 2 x 120mm cougars on roof 1 x 120mm rear bitfenix spectre pro red led and front 1 x 200mm bitfenix spectre pro red led

One thing I have noticed is that everywhere seems to sell only the "Mesh" version with the side-panel mesh section, whereas I wanted the original with a solid side-panel but no-one seems to sell this any more. Bit of a shame.

you can remove the mesh from the front 200mm fan with a dremel type thing, and it makes it MUCH quieter.

if you want it even quieter you can add a fan speed reducer.

the special edition of the case comes with a window and mesh options.

also the sides (i think) are identical so you could maybe pick up a solid one on an auction site or something

Out of interest, what "Dremel type thing" did you use to remove the meshes exactly? Interested in doing this but don't have a Dremel and they're not cheap.

well got to do some cleaning up after but it works fine. i used electrical tape to 'seal' the edges once done. looks fine (not that you can see it behind the grille anyway

Hmm, think it'd be easier and less messy doing it with some kind of metal snippers, but will look into it. Think I'm gonna order the case with some after-market fans and see how I get on.

i needed the cutter to remove a portion of the drive bay to fit a 200mm radiator at the front though, so i dont think snips would help me

I have just replaced my 600T with a Define R4 and the difference is wonderful. I've had issues with the 600T and the panels not fitting right due to the shape of the overall case.

I received and built my R4 this morning and the build quality is amazing. The side panels weigh an absolute tonne.

Coming from an R3 myself it is only quiet if you can accept that it doesn't cool very well at all, in order to keep it cool the noise needs to go up.

Need a quiet cool case? Get a silverstone raven rv02 its quieter than the r3 I had and cools way way better.

I am a silent freak and I can tell you the 600t is noisy.

The main complaint is fan noise but I sorted that by cutting the grills out.

The killer for me however is the front and rear plastic moudings. They contract and expand as the case hets up cools down. If you have a gpu that doesn't exhaust air or isn't watercooled the problem is compounded. As well as then looking dodgy and letting more system noise out, they also make loud audible 'cracking' sounds when the system heats/cools.
