Hi guys,

Im looking into building a Mini-ITX system to go in my living room. I want to use it as a media centre/gaming rig capable of playing the latest games etc.

I have looked into this before but a while back so things may have developed/changed.

I would appreciate any hints, tips and suggestions of components etc...

Cheers guys !

i5 with a z77 mobo 8GB RAM, samuel 17 cooler and a GTX 680 in an SG05 with a 128GB M4 and a 1 or 2 TB HDD depending on how many games you have. Job done.

Second this.

Just a heads-up, SG05 is a bit short for many non-reference PCB/Cooling 670/680 cards.

Gigabyte Windforce is too long
KFA2 EX OC should fit
Not sure about the just released MSI 670 Power Edition.

Hi guys, just trying to narrow down a GPU for my system, i have the SG05 case. will it handle dual width GPU's ? im looking at the EVGA 2GB GeForce GTX 550 Ti NVIDIA Graphics Card as ive got the 350W version of the PSU, is there any other suggestions ?

In the OP you're saying you want to play all the latest games.
The GTX550 ti is an entry level card and in all honesty is pretty dire.

I'd be looking at a HD7850 if I were you, the MSI has a very quiet cooler on it and will fit in the case no problem.
It's a very low power draw card and will work flawlessly with the 300w Silverstone psu, even with a moderately clocked i5.

Cheers Legion,

Ill have a look into that. might be over my budget though.

this ?

MSI HD7850 Twin Frozr OC AMD/ATI Graphics Card - 2GB

That's the one.
Just save up a bit more if cost is a problem, you don't want to be putting a cheap nasty gfx card into a build you want to game on and have a "good" gaming experience.
The HD7850 is the best bang for buck in the gfx card market currently.

so the case will be fine accommodating a dual width card ?

If so ill probably go for this card then. looks nice.

Cheers for your help

The case does support dual width cards, yes!
The HD7850 is perfect for what you want, low power and a nice gaming punch.

On tip, get a rear exhaust card!

Have a gd06 and damn its tight in there! Running a 6950
