Apparently,

Can be spotted by a 150w PSU and a few have been found floating around in some retail stores.

I will be investigating later :)

Are these the ones that have the in-built 256MB storage too? Think that will be overlooked by some people.

My Falcon is 13 months old now, Am I scared ? No but I am gutted I am now the older revision :p

I'm just about to buy a 360 so i'll report back....I'm not really fussed either way though TBH.

Will take a look tonight in the stock room of the big game retailer. Can you tell from the outside of the box like we could before?

So can I confirm that only the jaspers have 150w PSU's ? and can this be identified from the outside of the box ?

EDIT :

Have just read this on avforums,

"The easiest way to tell is if the console had 12.1A printed on it (Jasper) rather than 14.2A (Falcon), of if it has the new power connector."

MMMMMMMM, interesting,

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=321231

"VentureBeat reporter and renowned Microsoft digger Dean Takahashi has said that the new 'Jasper' version of Xbox 360 hardware could do away with the Red Ring of Death forever.

Jasper introduces a 65nm version of the graphics chip among other tweaks. "With the new design, Microsoft has a chance to rise above the problems associated with the Red Ring of Death," Takahashi wrote, then hedging: "We'll see if the systems prove reliable."

"The graphics chip will likely consume less power than previous versions, allowing it to fit snugly into its motherboard socket. That should lead to fewer system failures due to the graphics chips coming loose."

Takahashi summarised his previous reporting on the Red Ring of Death to explain Jasper's potential. Old models has 90nm chips that overheated thanks to thermal fatigue, he said, which Microsoft previously attempted to off-set with improved heat-sinks.

Jasper also comes with 256MB of internal flash memory, allowing Microsoft to bundle New Xbox Experience without relying on a hard disk or external memory card.

It's not yet known how you will be able to distinguish a Jasper 360 from its predecessors without ripping it open, but once current retail inventory has been exhausted the new model should take over, and has already appeared in the wild judging by illustrated Xbox-Scene posts linked by the VentureBeat reporter.

Once we get our hands on Jasper, expect Eurogamer's technical guru Rich Leadbetter to rip it apart to get some answers. Check out our Xbox 360 Elite hardware test feature to see what he made of that back in June last year."

Uh oh, I bought a new 360 last night and just swapped HDD and connected up all my old cables and old power supply  Didn't even open the box, just whipped the 360 out and left everything else wrapped up (ready for ebaying :p )

Is the connector into the 360 any different?

Do you really think its worth all the hassle of changing 360's

I mean what exactly does it help apart from making the 360 a little less noisy but now that you can load games onto the HDD the 360 isnt exactly loud anymore.

You bugger :(

I thought I did alright with a 60GB plus Game for £155 :(

I'm guessing your 360 coming back to life after the NXE update RROD was short lived too then :p

Thanks for the clarification on the connetors :)
