Well after a mad few weeks and lots of uncertainty about my job, I have got rid of the S60 after one month of ownership.

Plus the fact I practically lived at the petrol station, best I saw was 350 miles to £60 of petrol.

I pick up the new car on wednesday.

Phoned admiral to change the insurance:

Me: Blah Blah etc...
Admiral: Thats fine sir you new car is now insured from now
Me: What about my volvo?
A: Oh no thats no longer insured with us
Me:WTF?
A: Did you still have your old car?
Me: Well Duh thats what I said
A: Well we can put it on your new policy as a temporary car but it will cost £20 for three days
Me: Grrrrrrrr

10 minutes on hold A: Thats fine sir your new car is insured from today and we have added your old car on at a cost of £20
Me: Well you can imagine the rest

I was worried that the office had closed and I must have been the last call so if they hung up or anything I would have been stuck at home with no car insurance. Nice to have a UK call centre  Eventually got it sorted though.

Doesn't bode well for my T5 then, but I'm only going to be using it for occasional weekends away so it sholdn't be too bad.

Was that the main reason you got rid of it or was there something else?

I've only had mine for a week and I have to say that I love it, especially because it's so comfortable.

Mine was a 2.0T whihc is supposed to see 31mpg combined. The T5 must be a real thirst beast.

Best Car I have ever owned even if it was for a short time, least I got it cheap so I didn't loose out.

Can't bring myself to post what I have bought (hangs head so far in shame its in another timezone)

Mine's not too bad so far.

The trip computer is currently showing 27mpg and I've mainly been driving around London, just a few short trips.

About what I reckon I was getting tbh, tis ok but I do 2k per month. ££ were ok untill I made my decision on my Job

hang on a second, in the first line of the post you say you have got rid of it, so where is the issue? You either have or havent got rid of it..

Er Clarkey you lost me, I haven't said I was keeping it. What I was saying was that although it was thirsty I could afford to run it no probs, however with the job situation (I will be changing jobs or going part time for a bit (still to agree on which)) I have changed the car, I collect the new car on Wednesday and mine goes in PX. I am now trying to save as much money as possible.

It'll be something awful like a Vectra, then he'll say 'but i had no choice' even though had he looked carefully there would have been numerous better cars for similar money ;)
