Apparently rumour-mongers are suggesting there's some big exclusive in PC Gamer next month, and its going to be for Diablo3.
I think Diablo3 was always a matter of "when" rather than "if"
But still - in what direction do they go with it, to move the series on without stepping on the giant toes of WoW? If you think of all the aspects of Diablo1/2 that have been used in WoW, if anything it really was MMO Diablo, but wrapped up in the Warcraft universe.
So what do they do? Keep the same "instanced dungeon" world, same gameplay mechanics but given a total graphics makeover? Would work for me, but no doubt they'd get slated for merely rehashing it.
But if they do try and move it on, in what direction do you go to avoid violating WoW's space?
