So this happened... Small PC fire

Got another prompt reply. RMA confirmed!

I have to send it to the netherlands as UK RMA is only for Laptops i was told.

Still, what a result, not bad service from MSI depsite it being a mission to find an email to contact them on.

Wow great to heard MSI accepted RMA motherboard bought on ebay. :)

Same thing happened to me when old Samsung Galaxy S II mobile phone bought on ebay when it was brand new sealed had overheated warning message when on charged. I registered serial number on Samsung site and requested RMA but they asked me for proof of purchase so I send them paypal invoice receipt and then I was surprised they accepted it. :)

Ye, its always nice too see.

I'm starting to think that they ask for it to show that you haven't stolen it rather than to see that its from a reputable seller. It certainly coincides with experiences that i have had.

I stayed clear of MSI after the K8N Neo2 Platinum board I bought years ago arrived with several blown capacitors.

Been with Asus ever since, 0 problems.

I had the K8N Neo2 Platinum years ago. Loved that board, must have ran it 24/7 for around 4 yrs without any issues.

Have had a few MSI boards over the years and they have all been very reliable. Haven't used an MSI board in a while though.

Out of the brands I have used, DFI, MSI, ASrock and Asus. The only board I have had fail has been the one I'm using now (Asus Z97 Deluxe). The first PCI-E 16x slot failed and then the second one failed a few hours later. All other slots worked fine. Had a new one and it's been great for the last few months.

I had MSI boards failing all over the place back in the day, seemed gigabyte were one of the most reliable then but I've been using Asus for ages with no problems either. I won't buy anything with MSI on it now, the gaming laptop I had from them was a joke.
