for some reason it didn't let me add the the 700 modular PSU.

i have been doing some homework this weekend because its my first build and im abit nervous lol. im scared incase i might have left something out. checking the boxes that i already have to make sure that everything is in the boxes.

The mobo has 4 SATA cables with it, is that all i will need?

in the case there is a molex cable which im assuming is for the fan controller?

would i need such an adapter for it?

any feedback/advice will be welcome :D

thanks

i would probably opt for these and save 30 quid tbh

oem instead of retail chip (less warranty 3v1 years) but cpu rarely fails so imo its an acceptable risk.
sammy 830 cuz its cheaper than the m4, cant go wrong with either though
the gb 7850 rather than the msi 7850, 10 quid cheaper

cook thanks tamzzy, i have been watching your specs this last while now and i have been impressed. i still don't mind spending more on the graphics card as it will maybe save money in the long run.

7870 is a good price at the mo. Windows 8 comes out in october....meeeybe consider using windows 8 preview for now, you can then buy the OS later and choose between windows 7 or 8 depending on price or what suits your needs :)

Yes. you will only need 3, one for the HDD one for the SSD and one for the DVD drive.

I would guess so, but I have never used that case before. Follow the cable, where does it lead to?

still debating on the graphics card
Can you stretch the budget a little, for an extra £30-40 you can get a 7870 or even a 7950, compared to these the 7850 seem a little overpriced. Although i'm not sure how well they overclock.

how would i install the windows 8 preview? im guessing download to a usb drive then install it that way?

i will overclock in the future, i have not got a clue about it at the minute lol.

is the 7950 good at overclocking

You have a choice between the VTX3D and the OCUK one. From the picts they look like the same card. I would ask in the customer service forum to confirm this. While doing this i would also enquirer about what warranty OCUK give with their branded cards, do they go back to OCUK or do they have to be sent to the original manufacture.

i wouldnt recommend stock coolers as they're loud and run hotter
unless op really really wants a higher spec card but cant move the budget to allow for a non-reference cooled card

Going by your original budget maybe this then as you took my advice over the OS.......

670 vs 7950

Unless you fancy something like this on preorder or this, which is in stock. They are already overclocked for you, the EVGA card has a good warranty, i'd argue the KFA probably has a better cooler.

I have a EVGA 460 card which is very good. They do a number of different editions, I believe the EVGA 460FTW had an uprated heatsink to cool the RAM. I suggest you look for and read reviews on the GPUs you are considering to help weigh any pros and cons.

I was trying to keep the cost down for the OP. He originally picked a £200 card so I was going for the closest card to that budget.
