Recently i sold a 770 and a broken HTC One x on ebay and the phone was classed under spares and repairs, I logged on today and noticed that a case was open on the phone claiming that there was water damage on the screen and that they wanted me to refund them £20 or they will be forced to return the item (I did list item as no returns aswell). I had already listed that there was no lock button on the phone and that the speaker does not work, When i inspected the phone before i sent it off there was no damage to the screen what so ever except maybe a few scratches, This brings me onto my second set of bad luck..

The 770 that i sent off has a case open with the buyer claiming that they haven't sent the item off, I provided the tracking number amongst others such as screen shots from my account and a receipt saying that i had sent it which clearly shows the address of the seller, I should also mention that i sent both items with Collect+, Upon contacting collect+ they have either not responded or said that the person is lying, On the site it says that the item was delivered successfully and on time, So now what? The Card i can prove was sent therefore it not getting delivered is not my fault? But with the Phone i can't prove that there wasn't water damaged before, I certainly didn't notice any when it was sent and i gave the phone a really good look over, Any advice would be great

Thanks

It should do but it doesn't on the site, I think Collect+ delivered it to the wrong address and didn't get a signature

If that's the case then you should be able to claim from them.

The phone I would retort back to the seller that you have images of the phone showing no water damage before you sent it. How long is it since the buyer took delivery?

I think ill do that, Let them call my Bluff ;) The site says the phone was delivered Tue, 24 Jun 2014 so i guess its possible the damage was done on there end, After this i dont think ill ever sell on eBay again :3

No don't touch ebay it favours the scammer too much in my opinion. In the MM you might get beat down on price but I don't think there's any sort of scamming going on. Would be nice to see a general items area but this is a computer forum I guess :D

A week is quite a long time to report water damage. I would be highly suspect!

I need to get my post count up a bit more i guess :)

For Collect+ there is an option for a signature on delivery which is about a pound extra. I normally take this option for anything I send even if it means taking a slight loss on the postage costs.

Not lost one parcel yet with them, only had one ebay buyer put in a false claim for an Alienware keyboard I sold him saying that I had sent him the wrong item. Clearly he had swapped it and was trying to scam me and I had to sign an affidavit to get my money from Paypal.

Its because of people like that is why i always photograph any serials or item specific numbers just in case ;)

One of the biggest problems on Ebay is the constant "must under-cut the others for sale".
If I sell anything for £50+ I always add in enough postage to send the item RM Special Delivery. That way the package can be tracked all the way from post office to the door of the recipient and of course have a signature to prove propper and correct delivery.
I know that when I list my item will not always be competitive becuase of the postage - I always write a little bit in my advert about protecting both "you the buyer" and myself by using this service.
My items have never failed to sell and on the two occasions people actually tried to scam me, EBay sided with me 100% because of the evidence I had.

Finally someone on these forums is learning!!!!!!!!!

There are some complete clowns on eBay. I sold an item on Saturday evening and on Tuesday night the brainless twit of a buyer opened a case against me saying he hasn't received it yet.

Impatient much?

Put the label barcode that you printed from Collect+ into Yodels website for tracking, it should give far more tracking data.

Collect+ use Yodel Network.

So for the time being I've got all money going into my registered account trabsfering to a savings account and on top of that I have had had my bank bounce PayPal whenever they try to take money from me, I'm not paying for some things that's not my fault. Besides ;) I need to buy a car

Edit:

After a quick call with Collect plus they are sending a driver round to the address the card was dropped off at, The person claiming the phone hasn't messaged back yet so hoping it stays that way
