As title, im currently on an esnet reseller internet connection and its awesome, but its an 8mb line. I got curious and looked at sky (not normally one to go for a 'joe bloggs' net company) they reckon I can connect at 12-18mb (ADSL2+) So I checked samknows and it says sky has LLU enabled in my area  but no other company does :(.

Would the LLU allow sky to connect to me at adsl2 speeds? is this what that is ? or is it false advertising ? also are sky any good ? do they REALLY REALLY have no limit ? (I get through about 500-600gb a month) I know my esnet does off peak so thats why i use them (I upload multiple computers to crashplan before u ask !! lol)

But if it really is unlimited and really that fast and people have good experiences i may switch, so what do ya know OCUK ?

Sky LLU is truly unlimited, and like you I wouldn't be one to go for 'joe bloggs' companies but Sky have a good rep in this area.

LLU would allow for ADSL2+ speeds, yeah. Post your line stats and we'll see what you're likely to receive should you move to Sky.

Sky has been brilliant with me, had a few slight issues and a quick call to the support team and it was sorted in minutes. Best customer service i've ever had.
Sky will make sure your getting ur maximum speed for your line unlike most other companies, and i've never experienced a slowdown.
Just do it, trust me.

Been on Sky over 2 years now & cannot fault the service at all, 2 sections of downtime which have totalled to about 5 minutes because they were pushing firmware to the router.

Always 1.4Mb/s 24/7 cannot complain at all. If you can get those speeds I would definitely do it :)

I've had a LOT of problems with my connection since it got installed.

In fairness to Sky they have been great. In fact they have now authorised a "lift and shift" which is really hard to organise/get Openreach to agree to normally without a lot of messing about.

I was quoted 3Mb and get 6.5Mb :)

The in laws have just switched everything to Sky from Virgin, because their Virgin TV was constantly going down.

Anyway they get like 512k on their connection, were quoted around 5mb and because its not guaranteed Sky are saying well you get what your given 'so to speak'.

Now thats obviously not good, but by the sounds of it here Sky should be more concerned, is there any department in particular you guys speak to in order to get stuff solved? Rather than just being fobbed off as they do :(

Post their line stats here.

You can either send them a message online (easiest way), ask them to pass the message to the Customer Solutions Team (CST) and tell them what you want. e.g. "re-profile the line, as you think it can go quicker"..

Or you can call 08442 411 653 and just follow the questions from Tier 1, then they can either tweak your line profile from there, or pass you to the CST if you are having issues. Most of the time tier 1 will be able to help in some way.

Without seeing their setup or stats, it's impossible to say if it's even worth ringing.

Be handy to know if they are are on Sky Unlimited/Everyday or Sky Connect, If it is the latter good luck it'll be like getting blood from a stone.
