2 bed terrace. Me and the mrs +2 dogs and a kitten :p

Gas and elec are both 45quid a month ( southern electric )

However we are now in credit with the gas by about 80quid so this should help over the winter period.

Also to those who pay seemingly small amounts make sure that they have upto date meter readings. You may find that what they think you should pay is totally wroing and in fact you have been underpaying for months.

So, did you mean £90 for both?

Do you have the gas heating on a lot? do you have lots of baths using the gas to heat the water?

We use an electric shower and only have the gas heating on in the winter months. We use very few gadgets and the main user of leccy is my pc's and the tv in the front room. We dont have things like dishwashers and tumble driers or electric fires.

and yes its about 90quid all in all each month BUT we are overpaying by about 10-15 quid. Id rather be in credit during the winter then find extra money when the usuage goes up a lot.

Obviously at the moment, the heating simply isn't used.

All water is heated by gas:-
- Myself and partner taking showers.
- Typically nuggets sharing a 1/3rd filled bath.

We use washing machines and tumble driers, but they amount to just a few tens of pounds a year I believe... eg: A website suggests a tumble drier being used 24hrs a month = 5.76 a month...

Well as far as i know british gas are much more expensive than most other suppliers, certainly here in manchester. Maybe do some shopping around?

Uswitch show Britsh Gas (currently) as the cheapest of everyone (on a join electricy/gas) plan. And we're with them!
