Work were going to turf them, so I've now got a G5 Power Mac, 2.5Gb RAM, and I believe it's DP too, whats the latest OS I can run on it? Is it actually worth lugging it home?

Well I'd happily take it off your hands if you don't want all of 'em!

Should be able to stick 10.5 on them I think, although I'm not the best to ask.

Raikiri, everyone in IT got a free mac basically. :)

Some lucky people managed to get a DP QC Xeon, early '08 model, which I was devistated about and proceeded to sulk in the corner.

So I guess SL 10.6.8 it is then! How well will it perform? Will I just be using it as a overpowered browsing machine? Or can I actually do something with it? Upgrade the graphics? Do the G5's still have a bit of grunt to them?

Is there much I can do on Leopard? I'm assuming the App Store lark is purely SL? No modern day apps include PPC code? Or am I best off getting 10.5 Server and just making it another server-y box?

It's probably an ATI 9600Pro, as that's what's in mine. Most powerful GPU you could put in is an X800, if you can find one.

As for Leopard Server, good luck finding it cheap :(

You can still do plenty with Leopard. Most decent software developers even if no longer supporting 10.5 will have older PPC builds available to download on their websites.
