I've never been in this position before, if I've ordered new parts they've always turned up, maybe taken a week with bank holidays or delays but I've never had to wait longer than that in over 20 years, never ordered anything so highly in demand before but that's no longer the case, as behind me is every piece of my new PC except the CPU.
I have a PC to game on and technically not everything is behind me, I thought maybe if I got the new GPU in I'd be happy but it's like the upgrade itch hasn't been scratched, I even put in an extra cable from the new PSU as the cherry on top after a questionable adventure on fact finding.
Two things frustrate me here, one is that it's not like I've pre-ordered something that isn't out already and secondly, there isn't even a suitably, well priced CPU that I could use in the mean time to get it up and running and while not difficult, swapping the CPU in and out is more work than a quick graphics card swap so I'm not sure I'd even do that as it would likely be a bit of a side-grade to what I have already.
My question to you all is, how would(have) YOU cope(d) in this situation? What are my options other than wallowing in self pity and staring into the abyss.
