I don't know too much about i7 rigs so I'll leave others to comment on the CPU/Motherboard/RAM setup you have chosen, but I will comment on the other things.

That Gainward 1GB 4870 looks way overpriced! £253?

You have spec'd two PSUs, I take it that was a mistake? Eitherway, both of those PSUs are cheap. You seriously don't want to skimp on a PSU, especially if it's going to be running a £1.3k i7 rig... If it goes bang it could cost you a lot of money. The PSU is one of the most important components.
Take a look at the Enermax or the Corsair PSUs.

I'd also swap the Western Digital HDD for the 640GB version, it's only a little more and it'll be quicker.

That CPU cooler will not fit, you need a 1366 socket CPU cooler.

Why get Windows XP and not Vista? Vista make more use of your rig.
Do you game?

yeah that second PSU was a mistake.

i want a powerful gaming RIG. and i wanted it to be future proof so that's why i went for I7.

so could you suggest a PSU, graphics card and Cooling for this RIG??? thanks guys

If I were you I wouldn't get either of those psus, go for a corsair psu they work great, and quiet ;) Loads of people would recommend a corsair psu. Also not too sure what ocuk would say about that screenshot.... :p

The new gx260 (216 stream proccessors) seems to outperform the 4870 in a lot of benches now, and at the moment, nvidia driver support is better imo.

The corsair 1kw is overkill, but if you're planning on keeping it for a long time and upgrading more, I don't see why you can't invest in one.

On such a large budget i'd be inclined to get a blu-ray drive, maybe burner if you could find a use for it (ie backup.)

1TB+ hdd are so cheap now you may as well. Samsung F1 are good for the price.

Otherwise part choices are top.
