So......What Have You Got Preordered?

I don't pre-order games, as I can just wait a month or two and get them for around £20 - £25. I have bought about 15 PS3 and Xbox games so far and never paid more than £25! However I have just found Halo 3 for £31 delivered, which is tempting.
 
None, I'm not financially secure enough to pre-order :p


That said, I'll be buying Mass Effect, even if it means I have to forgo eating for a few weeks :D
 
people still preorder games? After more than one "sorry, sold out, you were too low down on the list, we didn't get enough stock blabla, all the staff have it tho and its awesome, yeah we probably just binned all the preorders anyway" incidents, I stopped bothering. (yes, i'm bitter and twisted)

I just buy em when they come out from whatever shop I happen to be passing...

But!

I'm liking the looks of:

ace combat 6 with the uber awsome ace edge joystick of ultimate coolness™
halo3 (it'd better be good or else :p )
Mass effect.

I get my staff discount, but we get very poorly supplied with games, so ill preorder them just to make sure we actually get sent them.

Same, I want to play it a lot more on the Xbox360 than I do the PS3 so as a result I will buy it on both.

Hey i got 3 games i am defo gonna get for the xbox :p

That is only the real games that interest me atm for the 360, along with MotoGP '07, and i was kinda dissapointed by the demo. Even reading everybody elses posts, most xbox 360 games people seem to want are Mulotiformat and most multiformat releases i will no doubt get for the PS3, unless they are chronicly bad.

Edit oo add to that the agency possibly both PC and PS3 :)

Stelios, what company you work for? I know you cant exactly specify, i work for the specialist store with the grey/black with a bit of blue logo :p 25% on new, 30% pre-owned etc.

Think rentals ;) Theres only one mainstream company around now. I get 20% off games, so its certainly worth having.

I'm the opposite as I would rather play these games with friends over Xbox Live. I also find the Xbox360 controller a million times superior.

Also, I've found every multi-format release to be superior on the Xbox360 thus far, even ones with 6 months extra development :(.[/QUOTE]
 
Just realized I don't have GTA4 on preorder :p I'll get down to that sometime later. 360 version it is !

I think a lot of people are forgetting when they go for multiplatform games is that the PS3 lacks a lot of features that people normally take for granted, ie, voice chat, rumble, party invites, friends. This is why I will always go for 360 versions as it's nice to just chat even during say Oblivion singleplayer. Games would have to be exceptionally good on PS3 with a pretty large release gap for me to get it first for that console and even then, it's going back to the shops for a 360 game.
 
Thing is though, i primarily play games for single player. Multiplayer is for a wee extra for me.
I like the PS controller always have. I know some of the ports have been quite poor lately, but i think games which are fully built on both systems will be fine, game like assasin's creed should be the exact same on both formats. I don't even know if that is coming with multiplayer, i doubt it tbh. And i can live without Achievements. But i have always said if the game is the same on both formats, i will get the PS3 version.

And since i will not be buying the GTA IV DLC that's why i am getting it on the PS3. And Rock Bank and GH3, i will get to pay in real money, not points, also the way MS/Harmonix treated people with the DLC for GH2, add to that wireless guitars for the PS3 version, that is why i am getting that :)

Yeah, I'm sure we will, the console is still in its infancy. Sony are definitely finding it a lot harder than before though and had MS not had that repair bill they would be very smug right now.

The one thing that worries me are the reports of the PS3 being unable to do FSAA and HDR at the same time, is this true?

I think so, any Nvidea GPU before the 8800 couldn't afaik. Where as ATI have been able to do both for a while.
