So what if you Weren't going to Overclock

So what if overclocking was not in your mind and you had a buget of 2 grand to spend,already had a case and lcd screen.
What would you buy?

Core 2 Extreme QX6700 - £700, 2GB PC8500 - £300, 8800GTX - £400, Seasonic M12 PSU - £100, DVDRW - £25, 680i board - £190

or maybe 2x 8800GTS
 
why go core 2 Extreme, if he isnt going to be overclocking, just somethink like a nornal 3ghz chip :p

Eh... just because I like having an X6800 lol... the E6700 is much better value for money - about half the price for one notch down the mulitplier - then it would be possible to get a second 8800GTX :D

Just gotta wait for my next paycheck to come in to get another GTX and a 680i board... can't wait :D

it would depend on what i (you) needed the comp for, the spec tastyweat has suggested is imho overkill and by the time there becomes applications/games to utilise the power of that rig then all the hardware will be old tech anyways! so you can't really spec a comp without knowing the needs and demands of what it will be used for as a old p4 could do the job if it's just general microsoft word stuff!

Overclocking is sooo soooo sooo easy!

A 12 year old can do it, infact, I did it when I was 12.

This PC is stable at 440x8, and it kicks ass.

Just gotta overclock that setup, ill do it for you! lol!
