So what is better - 8800GT or 8800GTS (new ones)?

I've read some people saying the 8800GT is more or less GTX performance, and others saying the 8800GTS is a step up from the GT.

Which is the one to go for?

Oh...and which one has the quietest and coolest cooling?

8800 GTS is a little bit quicker than a GT, by that its usually by around 5% at most and only in certain situations.

as for the cooler it depends what brand you get, the stock cooler is most common and while it does the job i think its a little noiser than other coolers.
 
GTS is slightly better than GT in performance but obviously GTS is bit more expensive as well but GTS fan is very quite and runs very cool campare to GT.
 
Its res dependant, at 1280x1024 theres no need to get the GTS over the GT, its only at higher resolutions where the GTS would open up the gap.
