So what IS the difference between Diet Coke and Coke Zero?

The originial Diet Coke is sweetened with Aspartame (nutrasweet). Coke Zero is sweetened with a blend of aspartame and acesulfame potassium. Coca-Cola's position is that the Coke Zero is supposed to taste more like the original Coke, but without calories or sugar.

To be honest, i'd much rather have 'proper' sugar than all the crap they put in to replicate the sweetness.

I'm not a great lover of coke, but have you seen how much sugar is in that stuff?! It's obscene.

Burnsy
Less than a lot of premium orange juices (such as Tropicana) that uses oranges bred to be overly sweet. Measure for measure, regular Coke and any old orange juice is only about 1g of sugar out (in orange juice's favour). Apple juice usually contains more sugar than coke does!

Don't start the "But sugars in orange juice are naturally occurring!" ;) They all break down to the same simple sugars in our body, anyway.

Diet Coke is mostly assosiated with Women, which is why Coke have advertised Coke Zero more towards men, and thus, increasing the woman orientated advertisisng for Diet Coke i.e. the new elevator advert. ;)

as above one for men and one for girls

coke zero is supposed to taste like normal coke

diet coke tastes different
