So, what linux laptops/netbooks do you guys use and where to get them?

Hi

I am thinking of getting either a small laptop (14"") or one of the larger Netbooks (12") to run Linux (probably Ubuntu 12.04).

Specs would need to be reasonably high (Asus VX6??) and price in the region of £400 - £600.

In the case of the VX6 has anyone got this with Linux running on it? Can you get them without Windows?

Any suggestions much appreciated.

thanks for the info - i think that rules out that netbook

any other suggestions for a highish spec fully linux compatible netbook?

though on the lenovo site it cost £393 with the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000 - where did you see it for £326?

so the "Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000" is linux compatible - wasn't aware of that

still not sure its got the spec i want but its a possibility

thanks - worked out at £354 with the intel wireless and 6 cell battery upgrade

shame we have to pay the windows tax!! grrrrrr

what linux distro did you put on it and did it all work ok?
