So what's the difference between the Focus Zetec and the Focus Ghia?

The thread title pretty much sums up the thread's purpose.

As far as i'm aware the Ghia comes with extra options than the Zetec. If that's the case, what engine is in the 1.6 Ghia? Is it the Zetec engine?

Thanks!

The engines are the same. The Ghia has fake wood and velour seats and aircon. The Zetec has slightly sporty suspension and fake aluminium trim, and different alloys.

Ghia is a trim level as of old, back in the old days when cortina's were the shizzle we used to have real wood on the door cards and if you rubbed them hard enough you got splinters, apart from that you got filled in head rests and an arm rest between the seats.

In other words , Zetec trim unless your my age ;)

Apart from the things Fox mentioned the Zetec also has slightly different cloth seats. Bigger bolsters I believe. If you want aircon in the Zetec look out for the climate pack which also includes heated mirrors and windscreen.

Both are still poorly specced compared to todays standards..

on mk1 the 2.0 zetec had air and 6CD changer as standard, the lower zetecs did not get these bits. it also got 16in rims.

ghia gets some wood, electric windows in the back, body colour side moldings and a few others i cant recall off hand

a lot of the Mk1 2.0 cars has ESP as well.

The zetec is the model to go for.

mk1 2.0 is thirsty. oddly, thirstier than the same engine in a heavier mk2 mondeo according to anecdotal evidence. my commute of country roads and a bit of traffic could easily see 26MPG.

they do clip along nicely - the focus chassis is so good you can use the power you have effectively.
