Nvidia have priced dropped when will we see price drops in the 4800 series gpus?

Nvidia haven't dropped prices, they are clearing stock, completely different matter to be honest. Though I'd expect a fairly routine price drop this month anyway and with the introduction of ever so slightly faster Nvidia parts they would probably reduce their competing products prices accordingly.
AMD are completely comfortable and the 4870 is still a great deal in the market segment they're in.
When they can sell them for the same cost as an Home Entertainment Centre with built in Blu-Ray player and games console (aka PS3), I bet they are comfortable
. I expect all graphics cards prices to drop quickly now that Gordon's "Global" downturn is upon us. Demand for expensive high-end gadgets will do a Woolies.
