I've waited all summer for today, and have been really proud of myself for holding off buying anything and it turned out to be an epic fail in terms of computers. When will the next opportunity be for new macs to be announced?

January at Macworld.

But knowing Apple, they will just quietly release new Macs between now and then. Don't expect any massive changes until January though.

They did an impromptu keynote in their own forum floor last year if I remember correctly, so there is nothing stopping Apple for doing any redesign to date and in the immediate future.

Although speed bumps may be the focus if anything, till MacWorld.

Hopefully Ill have some cash by January and have sold my PC and holy mother I nearly knocked a can of pepsi onto my macbook pro keyboard then, it even did a little dance before I grabbed it!
