Seriously. Where are they.

I am running dual 20" monitors wide screen (one Dell and one Philips) on a 8800 GTS on Windows XP SP2 with 97.92's.

WHY in the name of sanity is there not other resolutions like 1280x720 there for the chosing. All I can select are:

1680x1050
1600x900
1280x1024
1280x960
1024x768
800x600.

I am like dude... seriously... I want low resolutions. Mostly for CS source and 1.6, as frankly I like playing at low resolutions, and also I want a low resolution screen for Supreme COmmander. That way it doesnt effect performance at all.

I have tried to manually make the resolution in Nvidia Control panel but no can do... comments, suggestions, and thoughts... please post here ;)

*NOTE* I have no idea why this post is worded oddly... probably cause I am tired or something :/

Use a 3rd party tool such as Ultramon maybe? there's also a tool beginning with the word Power... but I can't remember it off-hand. :)

Ok, I went to display settings, and then advanced. It then takes Me to the NV control panel. I try to add the resolution, and it tells Me that it can not be added. this is becoming annoying.

Well, I am almost positive I figured out where to add the resolutions via Ultramon, right click in task bar, display settings, advanced, but then it takes Me to NV control panel basically.

I have just installed power strip.

@ easyrider

1280x720 is basically 720P... My old X800XT used to let me have this resolution with my dell and my philips monitor... I also tried 1366x768 and no dice.

You cant get an ATI or Nvidia card to do 1366x768, because both cards expect the horizontal resolution to be divisible by 8.

You can get 1360x768, or 1368x768. Apparently if you use 1368x768 and then play around with the timings, you can get 1 pixel on each side of the screen to be pushed offscreen, leaving you with a 1366x768 with a column of pixels missing on each side. (Like TV overscan, where the edges are cut off)

I had no problem getting my NV card to accept 1280x720 as a custom res.

This is driving me INSANE.

I tried downloading the latest Dell Monitor drivers, and then have played around, trying 1360 and still it won't accept it. :(

*EDIT* hang on... I might have got something here...

YAY! I finally got the blasted thing working. It turns out it was something to do with scaling options as well... after I played around with those, it accepted the custom res :/
