So....which is faster, Pro Duo or 1080?

Simples:
1.)Fastest card in XFire supported games= Radeon Pro Duo
2.)Fastest card in non-XFire supported games=GTX1080

Card with more consistent performance=GTX1080 as it is a single GPU solution.

Yeah I know that the Duo is a twin chip card. But its still a single standalone "card".

So wondering how Nvidia can get away with saying theirs is the fastest "card" on the market?

edit. maybe they mean Mhz?

No they both can claim fastest, beauty of marketing 'da fastest'- they can both produce different results using different tittles(non mgpu friendly v mgpu friendly) to back it up.;)

If they said 'on the market' is wrong because it's not available but there are plenty of applications such I'm sure Nvidia can point to and show the performance of it's hardware in comparison to it's rivals.

Tbh it's a pretty meaningless statement, it's like this cup of Costa I have on my desk where it says 'the nations favorite coffee shop', well if you don't like Costa then that tagline is irrelevant to you. The same with the 1080, it may be the fastest card in some CUDA based 3D modeling application but it if you don't use it then it's not relevant.

I see both Companies are saying theirs is the

"fastest graphics card in the world"

They can't both be right? Which is it?

Not that it really matters as they have probably both said that, just where have they both said that?

I can only find the phrase
The Fastest Graphics Card for Gaming in the World1
on the AMD Radeon pro duo page and even then with the footnote for the 1 it says
Application support for Mantle is required.

but on the NVidia website there are references to
the most advanced gaming graphics card ever created.
and
This is the ultimate gaming platform
But I cannot find where either company state the "fastest graphics card in the world" without any other conditions. :)

Pro Duo is technically faster if and when it works. I'm sure at 4k it would be a lot faster than a 1080 given it is essentially crossfire Furys and the 1080 is a 980ti on roids.
Still nobody will buy them at that price.

Both are grossly overpriced as well.

Wouldn't buy either at these crazy ass prices :D

Well said.

Fastest card pro duo.
Fastest gpu 1080.
If I had to pick one? 1080 :D

I can't stand multi gpu. Don't care what people say to justify their purchases. It has been proven over and over again. You hardly get day one support, by the time support comes, you have already completed the game and lost interest.

Multi GPU = benchmarks/epeen/small peen compensation :p

Pro Duo is a waste of time for games. If you're doing something a Pro Duo would be awesome at, you'd already know and would have already bought one.

"Fastest" and "most advanced" is just empty marketing BS from both sides.
