So which ISP?

I'll be moving into my student house in a couple of weeks or so and really cannot decide on an ISP.

There will be 5 of us so we'll need one that has reasonably high levels of bandwidth or one that allows us to use lots off peak. Speed isn't much of an issue as we're quite some distance from the exchange and Samknows places us as getting around 4 - 5mbit on ADSL Max (Does ADSL2+ change anything like that?).

So, any recommendations? Free hardware doesn't concern me as I can just pick up my own stuff. Short contracts preferred too...

O2 or Be* if you can get it. Unlimited downloads and very cheap too.

Be* or 02 if you can otherwise enta resellers like TitanADSL, ADSL24, AQUISS, UKFSN.

Yep, O2 LLU is available. Looks like i'll roll with that then, it was originally on the cards anyway.

Will ADSL2 speeds be faster than ADSL Max? And how does distance from the exchange affect ADSL2 speeds?

ADSL2+ works on different tech so speeds are faster.
