Bare in mind, the later levels are probably about 20% slower (warning: guestimation) and a demo will probably only have one of the first levels. If there is a Crysis demo! There must be...

Yeah there is a crysis demo but expect to have to turn down a lot of the eye candy. I really struggled on the system in my sig but when I swapped the 7800 GT for an 8800 GTS it is a lot more playable so the GPU is quite important.

my son plays it on his 7800gt fine....its only a 19" monitor so he can get away with a low res and lower detail.

You can get a nice perform boost using some of the community config files too.

crysis ran on my system fine on medium settings . however i sold crysis because i just got bored ... damn space ship.

I had almost exact same specs as OP and crysis demo ran - but it didn't look that good really. It did run mind.

I have since upgraded and there's no comparison with quality now - a lot better.

I think I'll tell them to give it a miss then... I can't be arsed to upgrade (got better things to do with £1000), and not that fussed about playing it - Got TF2 and HL2 ep1&2 to do which run fine
