So I bought a 4770k a couple of weeks ago and was really disappointed.
It's default voltage at stock was 1.18v.
It did 4.4Ghz @ 1.31v and 4.5Ghz @ 1.38v.
I've just got a new one, its default voltage at stock is 1.008v.
I'm currently stress testing it @ 4.8Ghz using 1.32v.
I'm very pleased. It is quite hot however - 60s to low 80s with the old spike noted upto 91. That is with a water temp of 24.5.
I guess I'll be onto the de-lidding after I've proved this stable.....
