So the service is up and running and as expected there are issues with input lag and picture quality (compression artefacts etc.)
Some review sites claim that input lag is even higher when the Stadia controller is connected over WiFi as opposed to wired connection.

Oh dear that looks rather tragic and if it isn't consistent how can you ever adapt to it.

It looks awful and I can't imagine it will be great in the UK considering how shoddy most of our network is, might be acceptable if you have FTTP and everything hardwired in the home.

Hilariously rubbish. But I assume this has also got something to do with the internet connection he is using.
Yeah a gigabit connection with 2ms pings.

Even steam link on local wifi is crap, cant imagine how this would be any different.
These things are so temperamental. Steam link was always crap for me. Geforce experience isn't that much better. I've tried a few others too. The only one that was relatively acceptable for me was Parsec, but even then you feel it and know the latency is there. IDK how cloud streaming the games will be successful... The bitrates are quite low too in all fairness. I can't see anything other than a decent level of quality drop too and perhaps a level of grainyness that you wouldn't get with physical hardware.

Lol.

Waiting for Rock and Troll to come in any moment to defend it and tell us how PC and Consoles are old tech and Stadia is where it is at. He will add that us forum plebs don't know any better bla bla bla. Hahahahaha.

We all nearly knew this would end upike this except for him. It's like he did not hear of OnLive or understand how ping works :p

The question you have to ask is, will the service get better as time goes on?

Maybe the target audience will be more likely console gamers, who don't want fork over the best part of a £1k to play a few PC games, just like I wouldn't want to spend £500+ on a PS5 to play a few PS5 exclusives. The entry cost will end up becoming lower, and therefore the uptake will increase, I mean who'd want to play a game on a mobile phone, am I right, right, right?
