Looking at some bits for the bathroom at the moment, and came across soak.com.

Has anyone here used them? The prices almost seem too good to be true... rain shower head, with handheld washer and thermostatic controls for £99.99.

Any other recommendations for bathroom bits also welcome!

All the big ones are roughly the same.

Soak are fine, check on their eBay store (search for the product number) their items are cheaper there.

Look at www.bathroomtakeaway.co.uk too, normally cheaper and better however the range is smaller as they're newer.

I work in the business so any questions just ask (bathroom e-commerce not a plumber!)

Used soak.com loads, always excellent. Have a client also that uses them on a lot of his apartments, never had anything but great things to say about them.

My last order I messed up and ordered a bath waste instead of a wc sink waste, they sent me the right one out free even though it was my fault.

I would avoid unbranded stuff myself. Got stung on one of those units a couple of years ago. It was crap quality.

Replaced it with a Bristan unit which has been amazing.

You can get it for £160.now from Taps Empire. Bristan Carre. Worth the extra sixty, trust me.

That's my main concern, especially for things hidden in walls and being tiled over... you don't want it to fail as it could cost you thousands.

Just ordered £400 of stuff from Soak - cheaper than bathroom takeaway on the most part.. plus the 10% sitewide Jan discount. Will see what they're like!

Edit: although now you've said that.. they seem to run on eBay under 'iBathUK' company name. Also a few reviews on Soak seemed to say something to the tune of "i will definitely buy from bath empire again" - what's with the multitude of company names? Ruined it a bit as I had seen iBathUK on ebay already and googled their company name to see a whole bunch of bad press about them! Also confused how they can sell for cheaper on eBay, when they also get a chunk of the profit taken by eBay..?!

It's because they sell the factory seconds or slightly flawed items that they probably pay peanuts for, then put them on ebay under ibathuk. That has been my experience.

Wow someone with an axe to grind with the necro-bump...

Whilst they're competition that's still not true in the slightest. It's just there is more competition on eBay therefore prices are lower, you're competing against Chinese sellers selling tat and not paying taxes. They'll make little to no margin on eBay sales, the margin comes from website sales.

Have used both Soak and ibath on ebay and can't complain about either apart from one radiator from ebay took longer to deliver than expected for which they refunded the delivery cost without quibble. Soak used to be bath empire think they just changed the name and ibath in my experience do sell slight seconds both the radiators we purchased (considerably cheaper tan the main site) were marked on one side but as column rads could be hung either way round we just put the marked sides against the wall.
