Yesterday the NYPost posted a story involving Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden and emails obtained from an abandoned laptop that was sent in to a shop for repair. Joe Biden has always denied any involvement in his sons shady foreign business dealings but here's some of the highlights:

The never-before-revealed meeting is mentioned in a message of appreciation that Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board of Burisma, allegedly sent Hunter Biden on April 17, 2015, about a year after Hunter joined the Burisma board at a reported salary of up to $50,000 a month.

“Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure,” the email reads.

An earlier email from May 2014 also shows Pozharskyi, reportedly Burisma’s No. 3 exec, asking Hunter for “advice on how you could use your influence” on the company’s behalf.

Despite the emails Joe Biden still denies any involvement whatsoever and remember, it's innocent until proven guilty.

My main point of this post though is that social media (Facebook/Twitter) have been ferociously censoring any mention of the story and anyone who tried to link to it was either blocked from doing so or suspended, or both.

I don't think anyone can deny that if the shoe were on the other foot and it involved Trump and one of his sons, there would be wall to wall coverage in the corporate media to damage his re-election chances, so given that we've had 4 years of hysterical media coverage about Russian election interference, why is it acceptable for many of those same private corporations to meddle themselves by either not reporting on certain items in any meaningful way or by blocking the dissemination of information by the voting public on social media?

This story was quickly debunked and not reported on by any reputable news outlets.

So why cry over it? It's literally fake news.

To answer why Biden gets away with it and not Trump you need to go back into European history. Why were the Irish so persecuted by Britain for example. A lot goes back to British royalty and Protestantism. The Italians, Irish, Jews, Mexicans and many others feel persecuted in the west, the left are the underdog's and in the current climate the minorites or losers have all these special privileges. The political correct, feminist movement etc that all started in the 60s.

In kind of complicated but largely stems from religious battles in Europe over the last few hundreds years,. The Catholic church being a big player.

I don't think it has been debunked, in that no one showed it to be false. However, the New York post are the only ones with access to the alleged emails so no one can say either way. As I understand, Twitter blocked it as the information was alledged to have been hacked from emails. Which didn't seem to stop them allowing stories on Trump's tax returns which were obtained and released illegally last month.

I don't live in the USA or give a toss who wins the presedential election. But blocking a news story from an established mass circulation paper (equivalent to the Sun or Mirror ) would seem to me to be worrying.

Its their platform, they can do what they want. Don't like it, make your own social media platform.

They have but peeps then go after the payment processors or hosters etc to get twitter/patron and FBalternatives get the platforms and people on them

Twitters/FB own rules are not applied evenly. Fact.
Twitter have not only block the posting of the link , you can't DM it as well, locked NYP's account, the trump campaign account and government websites with mentioning the story. Originally there even put a warning on the link saying it was dodgy like some virus filled adult site.

And thats not even talking about what Facebook has been doing too.

Say its fake news ,Facebook and twitter are acting very strangely.

If the story is true then this is quite scary.

Its strange Mr B has been quiet when he's on camera quite proud getting a prosecutor fired (https://youtu.be/UXA--dj2-CY) but he has stayed silent on this false story, i would be suing if that was the case.

Oh and othe nyp reports have come out too and thouse Mr B storys are being blocked too.

Less said about some of other content on twitter thats not being blocked or removed the better.

TBH the main thing affecting Trump's chances of winning is Trump. I mean, just look at the stuff he himself comes out with himself. No need for tin foil.

No, and he never responds either, so I've resorted to just responding to him in kind with complete garbage and trash as it's got the same effect as asking him logical questions.

It's weird as it many other topics about other things he seems to be a fairly intelligent, well reasoned person. Maybe the lizard mind controller election riggers got him, I dunno :confused:

Who cares, when you join FB or Twitter you agree to their terms. As I said, don't like it, either don't use it (my advice) or start your own platform.

In the end its FB and Twitters business and they can do what they want with it.
 
Unfortunately these social media platforms have too much influence for me to say meh don't like it = don't use it. It's not that simple any anybody should be able to see the potential to influence massively important event like.. I don't know... An election... By selectively allowing and blocking content. They need to do better.

So i am assuming the OP is ok with the government controlling what a private company can and cannot post on their own servers?

Do you take objection to OCUK forums stopping us posting competitor links or swearing/nsfw content?

No one is forcing you to use twitter/Facebook. If you don't like it, use something else or better yet, start your own.
