Hi guys,

On my new build I'm planning to go ahead and grab a Core i5-2500K CPU...

I need to find a socket 1155 MB to go with it. I see there are many models already been shown to the public.

I have about 140 quid tops to buy one.

What are the differences between the new chipsets? And do you think these new motherboards will be out before January the 5th when the new cpus come out?

Cheers,

Laurence

Main difference between different model P67 boards are: SLI support, amount of USB3/SATA 6 ports, amount of LAN ports and Phases (e.g. 8 phase, 16 phase)

Sorry guys...

This P67 (skt 1155 Board) are these to work only with the i5 Chips? or will there be a new line of CPU's too?

The mobo's and cpu's are out on the 9th Jan, so would assume they would be on sale that day also. Not sure whether you can pre-order or not yet, would be nice :)

It seems like quite a few boards don't support Nvidia SLI :(. I can't really see myself using it as I prefer using one card over two but I also can't help but feel maybe one day I might need it...

I don't think it's going to be too buggy. Some manufacturers will have to ensure their BIOS are stable but the likes of ASUS have been ready for a while now. But as you say, it's going to be expensive for early adopters.
