socket 1155 old arctic cooler

A simple question:

Will my 5 year old Arctic Freezer 7 Pro (not revision 2) currently cooling my E6400 fit on socket 1155 on a new Asus Pz68 motherboard?
On the revision 2s for sale now they claim to fit 1155.....

A simple answer, no.

A longer answer:

S1155 and S1156 use the same mounting holes so if it was S1156 compatible it would be S1155 Compatible.

As S1156 was only introduced around September 2009 your 5 year old cooler won't be compatible.

It will fit on some of the ASRock boards as they have mounting holes for S775 coolers.
