Are we going to see i5 and i3 processors using the 2011 socket too?
Or is this socket purely for the "rather expensive" i7 CPU's?

What is the future like for the 1155 socket?

I think its I7 only but there is going to be ivy bridge 2011 cpus coming out too. but i think it will still be enthusiasts level cpus like the old 1366 x58 series. dont think i5s and i3s could handle the quad channel memory.

Socket 2011 is strictly SB-E Sandy Bridge - (Enthusiast). i7 is marketed as > i5 >> i3.

So I don't think 2011 will every make an i5/i3 debut. I think intel is aiming socket 2011 at upper 2% of i7 users so would not make sense. But those 2% (still rumored) are promised an Ivy roadmap ...

There should be a IB-E version out for LGA2011 at some point, perhaps towards the end of this year. But LGA2011 is purely for power users, so there definitely won't be i5 or i3 chips out for that socket.
