Socket 2011 Or Socket 1155?

What's the best for gaming? I was gonna go for 2011 but then, I saw I could get 1155 for quite a bit cheaper, and I was gonna look at the Maximus V Extreme Z77 but I was also looking at the Rampage IV Extreme with i7 3930k, got any suggestions?
 
Stick with 1155 or wait until Haswell comes out early next year.

Are you ever going to purchase a system?
 
The board is good but for £300 ~ for features which you would probably not use.

Most boards around the £150 ~probably would be adequate.
 
Hey Trigger, I am asking this because I'm wondering if Z77 would be better for gaming, and if you want to feed a troll, cook something up and look in the mirror..
Nah, just kiddin' I would never be that mean, and I'm really not up for hate, my Mum passed out on the A9 was in hospital for ages, glad she's alright, no crashes, it's all good!

All joking aside, why don't you just wait until you are actually going to order something and ask what is the best option at the time.
 
wow this sounds just like someone i know, asus and nvidia blinkers, and a need to spec a machine way beyond whats actually needed! end result, never actually buys anything.
 
The 2011 socket CPU's seem to be a huge price increase over the 1155 I'd stick with Z77 to be honest, they're probably better for gaming anyway
