Right I've purchased a Jetway J9F2 Extreme mini-itx motherboard. Yes I know this is a bit obscure but hang in there please, you may be able to help me out!
I was told that a intel core 2 duo T5500 cpu would fit this board and have since been having trouble getting it working. I've been onto the motherboard manufacturer themselves and they say it 'should' work but the new stepping of the cpu doesn't as yet... not good!
However, whilst trawling through the documentation one more time I noticed that the board is compatible with Socket 479 cpu's. Now, when I checked the socket compatability of the T5500 it said Socket 478!! Gah!
So my question is very simple and I really hope someone here can give me a definitive answer.. Should a Socket 478 cpu still work on my motherboard or do I have to by a specific Socket 479 cpu like the Core 2 Duo Mobile T7100?

Which seems to suggest that it doesn't however I can't believe the manufacturer themselves wouldn't have noticed straight away that I''d bought the wrong cpu!?
