So my fileserver is playing up and its running a socket 478 P4C, everything else is fine, but i'm having trouble tracking down a cheap enough decent motherboard, obviously nowhere decent really sells any s478 motherboards anymore, i'm wondering where to turn and what to look out for. The more onboard IDE/SATA ports the better, i've spotted the EPoX 4PCA3+ but this literally seems impossible to find "now days". Any ideas? I can't retire this yet, its serving me well apart from this motherboard blunder!

Google is your friend.
No it really isn't because its just a load of comparison sites, i don't need ciao dooyoo etc... ;) Reviews are particulary valid either when they were written 4 years ago, and i don't even know if the board is still available...

Could look for one of the Asrock boards. Have one laying about here that used to be used in my media pc. Good boards despite being quite simplistic.

This is the only board i really keep falling accross and if i'm honest i'd rather avoid it =/ ASRock are famous for pretty poor board and HDD controller problems, which i'd rather not!

are you in liverpool at the moment? got a spare Abit IC7 :)
Sadly not, not back there untill sometime in april probably!

I'm willing to spend as little as possible :p Whats holding me back is i don't think i should have to spend over £30 but somehow eBay disagrees! Very minimum as long as it runs a P4 and DDR and is reliable i don't care, the rest can be sorted out with PCI HDD Controllers...
