hi guys
i just bought a socket 754 amd athlon 3400 mobile model number-AMN3400BKX5BU im also using a GA-K8VT800 motherboard but no matter what i try i cant get it to run this chip i bought at the correct speed ive tried changing the multiplier, fsb and voltages and it will olny run @ 1.61ghz
it should be running @ 2.2ghz.

please help.

thanks Dai

ok first one first. tetras it reports as 1.61ghz on cpuz with multiplier @ 8x when it should be 11x when i set the multiplier to 11x it will not boot at all.

el jimben i do not have cool'n'quiet in my bios.

thanks for the quick responce
any more help you can give would save my a lot of head work.

i cant set the voltages in the bios all i got is overvoltage by 5,7.5,10%
i have the same settings for agp and ddr.
other than that i got fsb and multiplier but no voltages for core.
i can set it using crysatlcpuid in windows but i would have to do that every time.

all i want to do is use this rig for a few months more then it quad core for me but im still saving.

ok guys thanks very much for all your help.
im now using RMcolck and letting that change it all for me.
@2.2ghz at last.

im going quad core in march so then i will give this to my bro and let him overclock the crap out of this. lol

once again thanks.
