Socket 754 - Venice v Clawhammer... Help!

Hi Guys

I've got a bit of a poser that I cant work out. Its between two processors for a socket 754. I'm trying to figure out which one would give more performance for just sheer gaming. I'm planning to overclock them so I'm not worried about the actual speed.

Athlon 64 Venice (90nm) Core at 2.4Ghz, 512KB L2 Cache, and SSE3

Athlon 64 Clawhammer (130nm) at 2.2Ghz, 1MB L2 Cache, No SS3

I know the L2 cache can make a lot of difference but at the same time I'm not sure how much more performance the SSE3 would give on the venice core.

Which one to choose!

Hmm maybe I got confused somewhere.

AMD's site does list a 2.4 socket 754 though?

The chip arrived and I managed to get windows up and working.

For £50 from ebay not a bad interim upgrade for the GF =)

Seems that 2.4 Venices do exist.

The guy from Hong Kong said it was from an OEM HP Desktop or some such.
