Socket 939: Dead or alive?.....

I know what i believe.... ;)

Also, I heard someone say: """"AMD knows a lot of 939 users are going to migrate to Conroe, not AM2, if they don't release more 939 chips"""""

I find a lot of sense in that, because why would a 939 user upgrade a pc to an AM2? taking cheaper conroes and all in to consideration? *If* i upgraded my mobo, LGA775 would probably be stamped on it :)

When you hear of people who once had 939-AMD, the odds are, that a very large percentage are on ""Conroe" (nothing wrong with that for the consumer) - BUT AMD won't want that.

And there are more than a handful of Socket 939 people hear on planet Earth - many millions in fact. So there has to be a market for 939 users, who are baffled by AMD - and there “what happens next" approach. I have an Athlon FX-55 (clawhammer) - so will be looking for more than a souped up dual core to keep my AMD interest up:)

Well, in AMD's AMD FAQ it goes on to say: : Does AMD still plan to support socket 939-pin package parts? If so, for how long?

A: As a customer-centric company, we plan to support the socket 939-pin package parts as long as customer demand warrants it.

I DEMAND!
