socket 939 quiet cooler?

Hi,

my old PC 2006/07 is still used regularly, but sounds like a hair dryer compared to my silent Quad Core PC i built last November.

I replaced the NB fan a few months ago with a passive low profile cooler. Now i want to replace the stock cooler on the X1900XTX with a Zalman VNF100 passivecooler, and change the CPU fan, which is currently a Gigabyte G-Power Cooler Pro.

Can anyone recommend a socket 939 (AMD 4800) cooler which is nice and quiet?

that's about 27dba.
This is only 11dba. Not sure on performance, but I take it you aren't over clocking so shouldn't be a problem.

A Scythe Ninja 2 should be able to run passively on a 939. Cheaper than the Orochi as well.

Just looked at some reviews and the Orochi is stunning, it's an excellent cooler. But yep is expensive.

Yeah i have never overclocked the 4800.

would be nice to completely passive cool the CPU, but the Orochi is more expensive than the Noctua NH-U12P which i use for my Q9550!

Quite frankly, Im stunned by it. My temps have gone from ~99 degrees (under full load) to 40 degrees and from 40 degrees idle, to 25.

I thoroughly recommend it.
