Socket A / 754

I've got an 'Asus A7N8X Deluxe' mobo sitting doing nothing, so am going to setup a home server as a project. Am I right in thinking that the 'Socket A' cpus from AMD have been renamed '754' and getting one of the cpus in the link below will work just fine.

socket A is also socket 462.

Yep, Socket A is known as 462 and nothing more. Ocuk don't sell Socket A chips anymore i'm afraid.

Yes, the 'Asus A7N8X Deluxe' is a socket A/462 motherboard. Some early Semprons were socket A, most were socket 754 and now AM2. No 939 were sold to the public.
