I'm looking for anyones advice...if they think they have a better idea or think i'm wrong then please say so.

History : I used to have a Coolermaster Jet 7 heatsink but apart from looking good it functioned poorly and the flashy led annoyed me. Now i have a Thermaltake Big Typoon which workes v.well but wont seat properly and i detest with a passion the way it fits on! Temps are great but the thing is too big, vibrated itself off the screws and my case is now on its side as BIOS would detect temps were too high and sound the sirens.

I have looked at many coolers and my aim is silence but i dont want a huge 800g heatsink. I've been looking at a Zalman CNPS6000-Cu but using a 120mm fan instead, i have had not responce from Zalman tech support regarding what airflow is needed over the flower heatsink to keeps things cool, i also though about vacumn forming a focusing tube (like the end off a hairdryer) and using that between the 120mm fan and flower but this may create more noise.

My System;
CPU : AMD Athlon XP 3200+ Barton
M/B : Abit NF7-S v2.0
Case : Coolermaster ATC 210C-AX1 (the Green one)

Thanks. :)

Dont bother with the zalman 6000, a cheap akasa rated for 3200+ speeds opn a popular auction site will work wonders and will be cheap aswell. If your going for silence then the Zalman CNPS7000B-CU will be a good bet for around 22 on ocuk.

thanks but im very pickey when it comes to such a vital system component, btw Zalman CNPS7000B-CU is not a socket A HSF and those of its type are apparently incompatiable with my mobo. :(
